My husband and I went here for dinner last week. We had high hopes that this place would be good...we were let down. We ordered onion rings, chicken wings and "boneless" wings. The onion rings were not cooked all the way. They were an off white color, no where near golden brown. They also had no flavor whatsoever. They tasted like they were dredged in egg whites and corn starch and then barely fried. To make matters worse they only give you 5. The traditional wings I got were really dry. I don't just mean lack of sauce, but the meat was really dry..almost like they were previously fried and then refried and tossed in sauce when ordered. My husband got the "boneless" wings. I use the parenthesis because all they were was chicken tenderloins sliced into small pieces and dredged in breading and fried. All in all, this place was not good and we will not be back.

This place was so horrible. We decided to come out and check out this place after meeting some friends out who told us that they had live saxophone player. The music was decent however it took 45 minutes to be informed that the chef or cook rather was unwilling to split are 10 chicken wings that we ordered with two different sauces. After the bartender finally informed us of this we then overheard the cook complaining about what he is willing to do or not for customers. At that point we did not trust eating there and decided to cancel our entire dinner order pay for our drinks and we left. We are now having a fabulous meal at the Caraba's just a few short miles away.

This was my first trip to the Top Shelf. Brooke was my waitress, and she seemed a little timid at first but was very sweet. In fact, all the waitresses there were wonderful. Granted it was mid afternoon and after any lunch break and before any dinner rush. There were only a few people in there. But each one made sure they said hi and asked if I needed anything, very outgoing and attentive. That is exactly what you want in a sports bar. I don't drink so I will leave the bar part to someone else. I do wish the menu was a bit more extensive but they are just staring out. One problem all sports bars have is that they have to decide are they a bar that serves food or a restaurant that has a bar. If they want to be a bar with food it's fine, but if they want to be a true restaurant I would expand the menu a little bit or at least make sure you have better descriptions of the sandwiches, so you notice them on the menu. I had the Open Face Chili Cheese Dog Sandwich. it comes with onion rings which is where I will start. They were near perfect. Barely breaded which is how I like them and not greasy which is important in a good onion ring. If the breading would of had a little garlic and/or other seasoning they would have been perfect but they still made the best onion rings I have had in a long time. Restaurants seem to have forgotten how to do this simple item right or totally fudge them with crappy frozen ones. These were really good. The open face sandwich was a mix bag. First the name implied a sandwich but it's really a hot dog, albeit a big hot dog. The dog it self was wonderful, a premium wiener for sure with a wonderful taste. The chili was OK, it wasn't bad but wasn't great. I would suggest adding a little green chilies and bell pepper to it. I can live with that but my biggest complaint was that I would have wanted more of it. anything that says "open face" should be covered in the good stuff. I would have also liked to have been asked if I wanted fresh onions with it instead of asking after I received it. I know not every one would want them but to me that just goes with a chili dog. Personally I would drop the hot dog bun, slice up the wiener and have it live up to the open face name. All in all though I love this addition to down town Plant City. I will definitely be back for seconds.

Not impressed. We ordered an appetizer that the server forgot to put in. My wife's food showed up first. Then mine a few minutes later, and the kids food didn't show up until we were finished with ours. There were only 8 people in the place and we were 4 of the 8. Food was decent. Save yourself the trouble and go to Dukes or Obriens.

I cannot believe I am giving five stars to a sports pub but this place is great. They just opened less than a month ago and already have a following. The place is cozy and is located in the historic district. There are plenty of TVs to watch sports. Most of the tables fit four people comfortably but there is also a huge bar and plenty of standing room. The atmosphere is quite friendly and the owner/manager came to our table to ask us about our experience. The drinks came out pretty quickly and the waitress made sure they were filled before we even asked her to. We ordered 10 chicken wings with the sweet sauce. It is uniquely sweet with a hint of spice and it is delicious. I ordered a top shelf hamburger and all I can say is wow. Best burger I've eaten in a really long time. We also ordered the homemade onion rings. Homemade is the only way to have onion rings and these tasted great on their own or with their signature garlic sauce. They also have a kid's menu and my daughter had a cheeseburger, which was also good. As we were about to leave, the waitress offered us drinks in togo cups, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, they do not have a dessert menu but they are working on providing homemade desserts. You know I can't wait for that.

Soooooo finally decided it was time to try Top Shelf. Thought I'd start simple and ordered a cheeseburger and fries. They were fantastic! Just a really great two patty cheeseburger and good crispy french fries. The burger had great flavor, and so did the fries. Service was a bit slow considering we were the only customers in the place ( got there just after they opened). I will definitely go there again next week to try the wings, or maybe another great burger.
